Who We Are
Charlton Vintage is a vintage shop in the small town of Charlton, Victoria. It’s roughly halfway between Melbourne and Mildura, on the Calder Highway.
We’re located in a former bank – designed by architects Seabrook and Fildes, and of the Modern Functionalist style. It was built in 1938, the same year as the magnificent Rex Theatre a few doors up.
Our range of stock is eclectic. We sell clothes, jewellery, homewares, small furniture, books, games, music and bric a brac.
We use the word vintage loosely. Lots of our stock is quite modern but it fits our ethos of reusing, repurposing, and blending old and new into an interesting whole.
We began as a pop-up shop in July 2021 opening on Fridays only. We’ve grown since then, although we’re still only open for part of the week – currently Thursday, Friday and sometimes Saturday. We open at other times if you’re passing through, and would like to look through the shop.
Charlton Vintage is my retirement project and it’s also a family business because so many of our family have been a part of it:
-
Finding the building and sourcing the furniture and fittings and lots of the stock (thanks Virginia and Lewis)
-
Painting, fixing, mending the building and the stock (thanks Ian)
-
Creating the website (thanks Tav)
-
Finding beautiful vintage clothes, beads and ephemera (thanks Ruth, Holly, Jeannie and Penny)
-
Helping out from time to time (thanks Rohan and Angus).

Please pop in for a visit sometime – we’d love to see you.
